Ark Shipping & Management Company (ARK SMC) was founded in the year 1999 by Commander Arya Mittra Hooda (Retd), Proprietor & CEO. The company is ISO 9001:2000 certified and is associated with International Association of Safety & Survival Training (IASST), UK. The company maintains a high standard of offshore survival training leading to building confidence for personnel deployed in extreme environments of offshore rigs / platforms.

ARK SMC has been conducting Marine & Offshore training for ONGC, for the last 10 years. The company has trained 3500 personnel and also contributed a great deal in saving lives during ONGC offshore platform tragedy of Mumbai.

We have been associated with many international companies like PETANS, KELVIN TOPSET and International Association of Safety & Survival Training (IASST), High Seas Management, etc. based in UK / USA.

Ark SMC has the unique distinction of conducting Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) for the first time in India.

The company has started Cruise Hospitality training in association with AIH&TM (Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management) India Tourism Development Cooperation (ITDC), a Govt. of India undertaking from mid 2008. ARK SMC is also starting Hotel Operations Certificate courses in association with ITDC. ARK Shipping is undertaking Skill Developement Courses for Goans from 2010.

ARK SMC has received an excellent feed back from participants & visiting dignitaries. All certificates for ARK SMC training programme are issued by ONGC & ITDC both Govt. of India undertakings.

Our Trainers
The Company has a pool of highly specialized & experienced faculty/instructor in various field of Offshore, Marine, Cruise & Hospitality training. Cdr. Hooda (Retd.) leads a team of Master Mariners, Chief Engineers, Marine Engineers, Offshore instructors and specialists in Fire drill, Lifeboat drill and Casualty evacuation drill.
